So I was bored today and started making a 555 PWM for my synth in eagle cad. The final product will use surface mount parts and I will have a breakout board soon.

Man I love the triple five!. I'm kind of new with electronics and its the source of so many of my projects.
The 555 is an amazing device.
You can make timers obviously, but it makes a great Voltage Controlled Oscillator too, which can be shaped.
Anyone getting into electronics should look no farther than the 555 and the Op-amp (I prefer the OP275), for endless hours of fun and excitement.
